Alisson says he kept away from his phone after Liverpool won the title so that he could celebrate solely with his team-mates.

Liverpool secured a first Premier League title in the club's history on Thursday after Manchester City dropped points against Chelsea.

Alisson was with his Reds team-mates watching the action from Stamford Bridge on TV, and says he text his wife after the title was in the bag. But after that he ditched his phone and joined the celebrations, which went on long into the night.

"I tried to stay away from my phone," the Brazilian goalkeeper told Liverpool's official website. "I only text my wife and she text me, and then I tried to celebrate with the boys, to enjoy that moment with the boys.

"Soon I go to my home and celebrate with my wife, the next day. We celebrated, we were still celebrating on Saturday and today [Sunday] we are celebrating.

"But that time I tried to appreciate the moment, to enjoy it with the boys, because we did something special together and it’s fair that we celebrate together."

On getting the chance to celebrate winning the title with his team-mates, Alisson added: "It means a lot.

"Obviously we would like to be in another moment, to be together with the fans, together with the families celebrating all on the pitch at Anfield.

"I think this moment will arrive when we can do that - I hope so, that it will happen as soon as possible. But being together with the team means a lot, it means everything because we are involved here every day.

"We became a family, we train together, we spend a lot of time together preparing ourselves physically and mentally for the games and for the challenges and this was a big challenge for us."
