Barcelona are set to loan out Philippe Coutinho for a second season after failing to find a club willing to pay their £72million asking price.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Spurs are among are all thought to be considering making a move for the Brazilian, according to Spanish newspaper Marca.

The 27-year-old has spent this season on-loan at Bayern Munich but he has failed to live up to the high expectations at the Allianz Arena.

However, several Premier League clubs could be interested in securing his services on a temporary basis.

The former Liverpool midfielder is not linked with a return to Anfield but could possibly join rivals United or Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal who are reportedly monitoring his situation.

Bayern had got the option to sign Coutinho permanently at the end of his loan spell but have decided not to take up that option, according to the report.

The Brazilian has scored nine goals and made eight assists in 32 appearances for the Germans this season.

He struggled to settle in at Camp Nou since making the switch from Merseyside in 2018.

During his two years at the club he has made 76 appearances, scoring 21 goals and making 11 assists.

Barcelona are thought to be keen to get high-earner Coutinho off the wage bill with finances stretched during the indefinite postponement of football due to the coronavirus crisis.

Bayern had the option to sign the 27-year-old permanently but will not take up that option

The Brazilian struggled to settle into life at Camp Nou after making the switch in January 2018
