?Premier League side ?Chelsea are reportedly toying with the idea of making an approach for former ?Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane to replace current incumbent Maurizio Sarri, according to the ?Dailymail.

The Italian has struggled off late to produce results with the 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Manchester City understood to be the last straw as the club management look to sack him and replace him either with current assistant Gianfranco Zola or Zidane.

The club hierarchy believe that Zidane would be the right candidate to take charge at Stamford Bridge as not only he has proven himself at Madrid, but would also command the respect of the players, many of whom idolise him.

One player who would no doubt be thrilled would be Eden Hazard who is understood to be a keen admirer of the French legend, with Chelsea believing that his presence in the dugout could also help them in convincing the Belgian to extend his contract and stay with him, amid rumours of an impending move to Madrid.

Zidane who won one La Liga title and three UEFA Champions League honours during his time at the Bernabeu has not been officially contacted by the London based club, and it will be interesting to see how this transfer saga plays out in the future.
