Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard appears to have been handed some welcome injury news.

"It is still a few weeks until Chelsea fans are expected to see Ruben Loftus-Cheek back in action for Chelsea's first team.

A number of fitness issues has marred the Blues' start to the new season.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek who picked up an Achilles injury during an end of season friendly prior to the Europa League final against Arsenal appears to be making good progress in his rehabilitation.

"The earliest is likely to be back October time, but he probably wouldn’t be back to match fitness until the beginning of November."

Furthermore, there was a massive injury scare when Mason Mount limped off early in the first-half of the Champions League group stage loss at home to Valencia on Tuesday night.

Our Chelsea writer Oliver Harbord gave his thoughts on when fans can expect to see Loftus-Cheek back in action during an Q&A session with fans earlier in the month where he said November is a realistic time frame.
