Chelsea are keeping tabs on £70million-rated Sergej Milinkovic-Savic for when their transfer ban is eventually lifted, according to a report.

Chelsea were not able to make any signings in the summer due to a FIFA ban imposed on them because of their past transfer policy on foreign minors.

Frank Lampard came into the job with little hope being given of his chances by supporters of other clubs and pundits, but Chelsea are enjoying a solid season under his guidance.

Lampard's decision to put his trust in Chelsea's youth players has paid off dividends, but the club are already thinking about spending big.

According to The Mirror, Chelsea officials are confident that their ban could be lifted by January, at which point they will make Milinkovic-Savic their No 1 target.

Against Crystal Palace on Saturday, Chelsea's young guns took victory with a 2-0 win over the Eagles courtesy of goals from Tammy Abraham and Christian Puliisc.

"Every game in the Premier League is hard, particularly against a team as organised as Palace," said Lampard.
