Frank Lampard admits Chelsea star Tammy Abraham isn't 100 per cent certain to play against former side Aston Villa on Wednesday - but will be given the opportunity to prove he can play.
"We are giving him every opportunity to play tomorrow," the Chelsea boss told reporters on Tuesday.
Lampard admits other Chelsea stars are also struggling with injuries at present.
"It's about John and the reception he'll get from the fans - he deserves that moment."
Chelsea have lost two games on the spin in the Premier League, while Villa have picked up four points from their last two games.
But Lampard plans to make a late decision over the player's fitness tomorrow and admits it will be touch and go right until kick-off as to whether the former Villa Park loanee plays.
But one man who will definitely be in attendance is Villa assistant John Terry, who is sure to be given a warm reception by the Stamford Bridge faithful.
