Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson will be targeted by Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea in the summer transfer window, according to reports.

The 22-year-old has impressed on his season-long loan spell at Sheffield United, keeping nine clean sheets in 26 appearances having also starred for the Blades in the Championship last term.

With David de Gea firmly established as United’s No.1, Blades manager Chris Wilder may see an opportunity to hold on to Henderson for another season.

Extending the English keeper’s stay at Brammall Lane could be complicated, however, by interest from French champions PSG and Chelsea, as claimed by ESPN.

Henderson has been a vital cog in Sheffield United’s meteoric rise this season, marshalling the second-best defence in the Premier League, with leaders Liverpool having conceded fewer goals and is said to be unwilling to return to Old Trafford as De Gea’s understudy.

His accomplished performances have sparked speculation he could be called-up to Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2020 squad, where he could play second-fiddle to Everton’s Jordan Pickford.

Manchester United will have to battle to keep hold of the promising youngster, as both PSG and Chelsea are likely to be able to offer Champions League football.

Blues keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga will be waiting with bated breathe to see if boss Frank Lampard drops him for a second match in a row, when Chelsea take on the Red Devils on Monday.

The world’s most expensive goalie was apparently ‘shocked’ by the decision, and if relations sour between player and manager, the No.1 spot may be open for the likes of Henderson to fill.
