Tiemoue Bakayoko is reportedly 'dreaming' of a return to AC Milan as the £40million Chelsea outcast looks to reignite his career following a tumultuous spell at Stamford Bridge.

The French midfielder has seen game time hugely limited in west London, having spent the past 18 months shipped out on loan to AC Milan and former club Monaco.

Despite a slow start to life in Italy, Bakayoko established himself in Gennaro Gattuso's side, and had high hopes that the Italian giants would move to secure the Frenchman's long term future at the club.

Milan's failure to offload Franck Kessie in January meant that the Bakayoko move failed to materialise, but the Chelsea midfielder is said to be dreaming of returning to Italy.

Italian outlet Calciomercato reports that Bakayoko is desperate to reunite with his friends at the San Siro, where he made 42 appearances scoring once and providing a single assist.

Should Milan be able to raise the funds, a move would appear favourable for all parties.

Chelsea are looking to generate the cash to land big-money moves this summer, with Jadon Sancho at the summit of Frank Lampard's wishlist.
