Chelsea have been handed a big transfer boost with the news that Philippe Coutinho will not be joining Manchester United this summer.

According to reports in Spain from Sport, the Barcelona midfielder continues to see concerns rise about his future, with a Premier League return being mooted.

While it is still unclear about where he could be playing his football next season, one thing that is for sure is that it will not be at Old Trafford.

Chelsea and United have been the early front runners in the teams linked with moves for Coutinho, who has been far from his best in a Barcelona shirt this season.

The former Liverpool man was jeered and booed by home supporters during Barcelona’s clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Champions League and it remains to be seen how he would be welcomed if United were to complete a deal for the player.

The Brazilian is one of a number of players to be earmarked as a potential Eden Hazard replacement at Chelsea.
