Chelsea appear to be in pole position to sign RB Leipzig hitman Timo Werner after he admitted that he wants to test himself in the Premier League.

Although Spanish giants Real Madrid are among those reportedly considering a move for him, Werner looks to have his sights set on a move to England.

Chelsea are particularly keen on the striker after having their transfer ban reduced, and Werner told German newspaper Bild: 'The Premier League is certainly the most interesting league, you have to say.

With Real also being linked with a £68million move for Werner this summer, the 23-year-old was quick not to rule out a potential switch to La Liga.He added: 'But many Germans have also been very successful in Spain, such as Sami Khedira and Mesut Ozil think.

Leipzig are unlikely to be willing to cash-in on Werner this month as they look to win their first ever Bundesliga title.

Fortunately for them, the former Stuttgart star says he is 'not worried' about securing a move away in January.

'As of now I have no desire to look for a move elsewhere,' he said.
