Chelsea have made Ben Chilwell their top transfer priority following the signing of Hakim Ziyech. The Moroccan is the club’s first deal of the year and more are expected to follow this summer following the uplift of their transfer ban.

The Blues confirmed today that Ziyech will move to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

Chelsea moved quickly to wrap up a deal worth an initial £33.3million, which could rise to £38m with add-ons.

According to ESPN, the club have made Ziyech and Chilwell their priority signings when the window reopens.

Now a deal for the attacking midfielder is now concluded, Chelsea are set to go all out for the Leicester full-back.

He’s a player that has impressed Lampard on numerous occasions this season and the Blues boss sent fans crazy when he liked Chilwell’s Instagram post in November after he assisted three times for England.

Chilwell scored against his admirers in the 2-2 at the King Power Stadium on February 1.

Current options Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri are attracting interest from Italy and could be shown the door.

Lampard has been left frustrated at the club’s lack of transfer activity in the January market, claiming they are now underdogs to finish in the top four.

"I look at Manchester United signing a big, big player, a world-class player [Fernandes] in my opinion," Lampard said at the start of the month.

"And the teams around us, Sheffield United making fantastic signings.

“Chris Wilder's job is incredible because he's had years to work that group and now they're adding where he sees fit.

"Tottenham have signed a few and they're not far behind us. And not only have they signed a few but a couple of players have left where the situation was they were towards the end of their contracts and maybe weren't happy being at the club any more.

“Sometimes that's as important as bringing players in. Now what remains to be seen will be seen and from my view – and this is not to talk ourselves down because we're six points clear in fourth – now we become probably the underdogs and the outsiders to some point because the teams around us have strengthened. It's a fact."

Chelsea are expected to bring in four new faces after the signing of Ziyech.

Nick Pope is among the contenders to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga between the sticks, should Lampard decide to sell.

Jadon Sancho is one of the club’s leading targets but they face strong competition from Manchester United.

Moussa Dembele and Timo Werner are also being monitored with Lampard looking to bring in some added firepower to ease the pressure on Tammy Abraham.
