Incorporating a herringbone pattern, the shirt pays tribute to the capital’s famous tailoring industry by ‘bringing a touch of Savile Row to Stamford Bridge’.

Though not visible from a distance, the pattern can be seen on close ups of the jersey.

The shirt also features a navy blue trim, on the collar, sleeves and down either side, meaning the only white on the jersey comes in the form of the Nike tick and new main sponsor Three mobile, which adorns a Chelsea kit for the first time next season following the end of Yokohama Tyres’ sponsorship deal with the west Londoners.

The shorts will be blue and socks white to complement the all-blue shirt.

As Chelsea wrote on the official club website: “Just as Chelsea is woven into the fabric of London life, the city’s rich fashion heritage is woven into the new shirts, with our traditional blue elevated by a subtle all-over herringbone knit and garnished with bespoke flourishes.”

Tammy Abraham, who will hope to lead the line in Chelsea’s new kit next term, said: “The kit is really, really smart – very Chelsea.

“You can see the story behind the kit with how it looks and all the little touches that remind you of a good suit. I think we will certainly be the best dressed team next season.”

Chelsea Women’s star Fran Kirby added: “I’m really excited to be wearing this kit when we take to the pitch again for the 20/21 season. Winning the WSL was an incredible moment for the club and we’ll be proud to be wearing the new kit as champions next season.”
