The Italian watched his side capitulate at the Etihad as Sergio Aguero netted a hat-trick for the Premier League leaders.

And rumours that Sarri could be sacked have intensified since the hammering.

After the match the Chelsea boss made comments suggesting he never hears from Abramovich.

But in his press conference ahead of the Europa League clash with Malmo he has clarified what he meant but has admitted he hasn’t spoken to the Blues owner.

He said: “Not in this week. It depends on the president. It’s not never, not very often. Not never.

“The interview was in Italian, I am better than you at this. I am spoken to him, not this week.

“I would like to speak to someone of the club, not necessarily the owner. I speak to Marina and for me that is enough.”

Sarri has also revealed how his players have been since losing 6-0 to City.

He explained: “Not too easy of course. After a match like in Manchester it is normal.

“It is not easy to play tomorrow after 6-0, we want to play well and win.

“It will not be really very easy. They are compact and solid and have a good defensive phase. We want to win.”

Chelsea forward Pedro also opened up on the defeat to City and admitted it has been difficult.

He said: “It is difficult, it was probably the worst of the season. It is hard, it is so important tomorrow now.

“That is the past and it is good to get ready for tomorrow.”

Chelsea take on Malmo in Sweden at 8pm tomorrow evening as Sarri’s side look to get back to winning ways.

After that the Blues host Manchester United in the FA Cup fifth round at Stamford Bridge on Monday.
