Chelsea fans have expressed their delight after promising right-back Reece James returned to training following an injury lay-off.

The 19-year-old defender underwent ankle surgery during the summer and has been unavailable for new boss Frank Lampard's first four premier League games in charge.

Now, having taken to the training pitch gain, club supporters believe James has what it takes to unseat current first-choice right-back Cesar Azpiliecueta.

The injury that forced him to miss the beginning of the campaign was picked up on England Under-20 international duty.

Chelsea announced the full-back's return with a video showing James dropping a crutch, captioned 'drop it'.

James also shared a photo of himself on the training pitch and the words: 'It's been a while.

One supporter said on Twitter: 'Azpi is shaking', while another believes the Spaniard should 'run for your life.
