Willian believes Chelsea are still capable of winning silverware this season despite new head coach Frank Lampard taking charge in difficult circumstances.

Chelsea travel to Wolves on Saturday with Willian hoping to make his first start of the season following a knee injury and the 31-year-old said: “"I think Chelsea can win some titles this season," Willian said.

"I know it will be hard this season to win titles, as usual, it is always hard.

The Blues won just one of their opening four Premier League games after a turbulent summer in which Eden Hazard left for Real Madrid and the club began serving a Fifa transfer ban.

Experienced defender David Luiz also forced through a move to Arsenal on deadline day but Lampard’s focus on youth has helped Mason Mount gain international recognition with England and ensured Tammy Abraham has made a promising start to the season.

"It is difficult when you lose players like David Luiz, Eden Hazard, but we have some quality young players here who can improve a lot and in the future become one of the best players in the league.

When Chelsea go into a competition we go to win.
