Eden Hazard could be set to hand Chelsea a boost and stay on at Stamford Bridge, should the club ditch Maurizio Sarri for Zinedine Zidane.

The Italian boss is clinging on to life in the Blues hotseat after a 6-0 mauling at the hands of title chasing Manchester City.It is the club's worst defeat in the Roman Abramovich era, one that has prompted the club to scour the globe for a potential new head coach, a search that has led them to Zidane.

According to The Sun, should the three-time Champions League winning boss accept the Premier League role, it would make their star man think twice about leaving for Real Madrid this summer.

The 28-year-old's current contract expires in 2020, but the arrival of the World Cup winner would make encourage him to stay put and discuss new terms.

Hazard had started life under Sarri in phenomenal form, his early season displays prompting his boss to declare the Belgian could challenge the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for the title of the best player in Europe.

Like the Blues', his form has dipped massively during a mid-season stutter that his seen him involved in just three goals in his last seven league appearances.

Chelsea are back in Europa League action on Thursday when they face Swedish side Malmo in a break from the Premier League.
