Frank Lampard says Marcos Alonso must improve his performances in training to win his place back in the Chelsea team.

The Spanish full-back hasn't started a Premier League game for the Blues since the 4-2 win over Burnley in October, with Lampard preferring to use Emerson Palmieri or Cesar Azpilicueta at left-back.

He is an important player for us.



"Okay, we're giving him every possible chance to be fit," Lampard said.

The former Sunderland and Bolton defender has not even been named in the Chelsea squad for the last three matches in all competitions.
