There may be another Chelsea player to add to the ever increasing injury list at Stamford Bridge following the international fixtures.

Blues' full-back Emerson Palmieri lasted just eight minutes of Italy's European qualifier against Finland on Sunday, before being forced off the pitch due to injury.

The 25-year-old has become an important player for Frank Lampard since the start of the season, playing every minute of the Blues' campaign so far.

Maatsen is one for the future, and Lampard certainly has his eye on him for the long-term.

It means that, even if the injury isn't too bad for Emerson, Lampard is going to have to manage his workload and look to be rotating him over the matches.

James could certainly do a job for Chelsea in the left-back slot, should Emerson be out for some time and Lampard look to go down that route.

Between now and the net international campaign, the schedule is packed for Lampard and Chelsea, meaning that the Blues' boss will need as many players available as possible.
