Arsenal currently sit third in the Premier League table after a positive start to the new season, and John Hartson reckons they have what it takes to beat Chelsea and Tottenham to the top four.

"They will be looking to make the top four and they might be able to capitalise on Chelsea not being able to sign players because there is a transfer ban."

"You look at Spurs and they are in a bit of a mess with players running their deals down and Delle Alli not in the team."

Hartson has reserved special praise for his former club for their capture of Scotland international Tierney, who joined from another one of his former teams, Celtic.

The left-sided defender has made two starts since his £25m summer move from Glasgow impressing in comfortable victories over both Nottingham Forest and Standard Liege, and Hartson has named the 22-year-old as better than Liverpool's Andy Robertson defensively.

I would say at this moment in time he has better delivery but Kieran is a better defensive player.

"Kieran gets low and defends well and he can also play as wing-back if needed."
