Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has heaped praise on Fikayo Tomori, Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount following the club’s 4-0 win over St Patrick’s on Saturday.

Should Tomori, Mount and Abraham be in the first-team next season?

You could see from the first moments that Mason [Mount] and Tammy [Abraham] and [Fikayo] Tomori were really at it and that’s what we want, we need to have competition within the squad.

The Blues picked up their first win of pre-season as they eased past the Irish outfit, following on from their 1-1 draw with Bohemians on Wednesday.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Lampard said this: A lot has been made of the younger players we have here and, of course, they need to have the door open and know they can impress, like a lot of them did today.

Mount and Emerson scored the goals for Chelsea as Lampard’s side went into the break 2-0 up, before Olivier Giroud found the back of the net twice in the second-half to round off the scoring.

Chelsea are now set to face Barcelona in a friendly on Tuesday as the level of opposition in pre-season begins to increase.
