Chelsea will look to kick a struggling West Ham whilst they’re down as they take a trip to the London Stadium for their next Premier League match day.

Since the restart, nothing has been able to trouble the Blues. They have won both of their league fixtures, including an emphatic victory over Manchester City, and knocked Leicester out of the FA Cup on Sunday.

With the Irons only above the relegation zone via goal difference, Frank Lampard and his men would like to think it’ll be an easy three points on the road. West Ham have suffered two back-to-back 2-0 defeats since their return, so they’re in desperate need of a result.

Keep Sell

Transfer Tavern has predicted how Lampard might set up against his former club this evening, including six changes from the FA Cup fixture against the Foxes…

With Christian Pulisic ruled out with a calf injury, we will likely see Ruben Loftus-Cheek return to the starting lineup. He featured on the left-wing in Chelsea’s first match back against Aston Villa and maintained an 89% passing accuracy (via Sofascore). Losing Pulisic will be a huge blow given his goalscoring form, but the return of Tammy Abraham who is fit and firing again could make up for it.

Lampard could opt for the midfield that triumphed over Man City last week. Particularly with Ross Barkley’s FA Cup heroics, he deserves to be part of the starting XI against West Ham. The added defensive cushion of N’Golo Kante will help prevent any unexpected breaks from the Hammers, who will be trying to force a result any way they can.

The back four will see an almost complete transformation from the defence that took on Leicester. Only Antonio Rudiger will keep his spot and will be joined by Andreas Christensen as the centre-back pairing. The Dane was superb against City, winning 100% of his attempted duels and making three tackles, the most in the game (via FotMob).

Willy Caballero will return to the bench in favour of Kepa Arrizabalaga, who has been solid between the sticks since the restart.

With a win over David Moyes’ side, Chelsea will inch closer to a spot in the Champions League next season, but they must be ready to face a side who are desperate to stay up.
