?Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has claimed that it was his mistake to start Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the UEFA Super Cup game against Chelsea, and said that the former Arsenal man will still need some time to get back to his best.

Oxlade-Chamberlain had suffered a long-term injury after his move to Liverpool and only made his appearance in April last season.

The midfielder was substituted in the interval and Klopp brought on Firmino in his place, who made an instant impact by providing the assist for the equalizer before setting up Sadio Mane for his second goal.

Klopp took the blame for Oxlade-Chamberlain’s not so great performance in the first half, saying the player was not yet ready and he shouldn’t have started him.

"I didn't say a lot to Ox, I don't think it was necessary.

Although he was involved in a full pre-season, it does not look like he is match ready yet.

For Ox it was very important to have these minutes, it's a position he can play," he said, according to Goal.
