Liverpool face competition for the signature of Luka Jovic after Chelsea reportedly submitted a £39million bid.
Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool have been tracking Eintracht Frankfurt striker Jovic , who is on the radar of several clubs including Barcelona and Real Madrid .
But Chelsea have made Jovic their priority target for the summer window and are ready to table a £39m offer.
Having signed Gonzalo Higuain in January, Chelsea are also in the market for another striker this summer with Olivier Giroud’s contract due to expire at the end of the season, although a one-year extension is a possibility.
Earlier this week, reports in Spain claimed that Barcelona had agreed personal terms with the striker and were preparing to hold negotiations with Frankfurt over a transfer fee.
But now Chelsea have upped the ante over their rivals with a bid of €45million (£39m) for the 21-year-old, according to Metro .
Ex-Reds striker Michael Owen has said Liverpool must look to add up-and-coming talent to their attack, and Serbian hotshot Jovic fits the bill.
