Chelsea have agreed to let go of the World Cup winner for a deal worth up to £5million.

The striker, 33, had already agreed personal terms with Antonio Conte's side but the clubs were at odds over the fee for Giroud.

But the two clubs now look to have found an agreement for a player whose contract expires this summer and has made just three starts and seven club appearances all season.

He joined Chelsea for £18m two years ago, and Blues boss Frank Lampard has admitted he will be allowed to leave the club this month should he find an adequate replacement.

Lampard said: 'With Oli the situation is if it's right for everybody and first and foremost that's the club as he is under contract then we will look at whether he can leave the club.

'He has been a great professional here, trained brilliantly through the season even without many opportunities and so I hold him in high regard for that and respect but I still have to make a decision for the football club and nothing is done yet.

'Everyone is talking about it so I'm not going to beat around the bush. His agent has spoken to the club (Chelsea) but until we decide it is the right thing then it is not done.'

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has acknowledged the Frenchman is up for sale this month
