Chelsea are set to receive a welcome windfall which will help to boost Frank Lampard's summer transfer budget.

I need the right city and the right club to improve.

News of Hakim Ziyech's £33.4m move from Ajax to Stamford Bridge was officially confirmed on Thursday afternoon, making the Morocco international Lampard's first significant signing since succeeding Maurizio Sarri as head coach.

This transfer would mean a chunk of Lampard's reported £150m transfer budget has already been used.

But the Blues look set to receive a surprise windfall which in turn could fund more summer signings amid links to the likes of Jadon Sancho, Timo Werner and Moussa Dembele.

However, they've already agreed one deal ahead of the summer window.

Despite the west London outfit having their two-window transfer ban reduced upon an appeal which was heard by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) they did not make a single signing last month.
