Here are three things we learned from Liverpool's penalty shootout win over Chelsea.

Liverpool and Chelsea faced each other in the UEFA Super Cup at the Vodafone Arena in Istanbul, and finished 2-2 at the end of extra time.

The Reds came out victorious in the ensuing penalty shootout to continue their domination in Europe and winning their first trophy of the season.

However, there was controversy early on in the game when a handball appeal in the Chelsea penalty box was turned down by VAR even though it appeared that it clearly hit the player's hand.

VAR was constantly involved in the game, ruling out two Chelsea goals, correctly, for offside.

The American international started his first official Chelsea game and along with Pedro and Kante, was driving the team forward.

If Chelsea are to have a reasonably good season, then Pulisic will need to be at the top of his game.
